Rants
- Usinga proprietary file format is rude unless you know the recipient has the required software. I hate getting emails saying "Please fill in this Excel spreadsheet and email it back", because I do not use Excel. Software of this kind easily costs $100 or more, and you should not make people buy it just to communicate with you. Give them a plain text or PDF version, or send a preliminary email asking which format to use.
- AOL, Prodigy, and other large ISP's have started blocking emails from myself and others with configurations like me. Be aware that I cannot directly email you back if you mail me from such an ISP. Please either lobby your ISP to change their policy, or switch to an ISP that is more open. Don't quietly let them intervene between you and your email.
- Dvorak rocks, Qwerty qworts. It only takes one month to learn it. Isn't it worth it, if you are going to spend decades typing on a keyboard? Your fingers will thank you.
- Right now, I can't legally play DVD's I own on my computer DVD player that I own. That can't be right. Bugs in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) are propping up this sad situation. http://www.anti-dmca.org/.
